You won't find a better hotel at this price point. The area is lovely and the view from the terrace is the best in town. The owner is absolutely determined to make this work and puts in a huge effort. My daughter left her toy here and he posted it back to us, which was extremely kind. In future, I would go for one of the king rooms as the double rooms are standard doubles.

The breakfast is top notch, the homemade full english is 10/10! Compliments to the chef! Location was perfect for me as i was working very locally to the property, and there is a pub just across the road for an evening meal/refreshment if required. I haven't visited myself.

We had a very good experience, especially because of the hosts: very warm, welcoming and helpful people that made us feel at 'home away from home'. the house is beautifully decorated, sparkling clean (honestly, we haven't seen one speck of dust in 3 days we've been there). The location is superb, close to many attractions but tucked away from noise and crowds, the breakfast was delicious and the bed was super comfortable. They have beautiful outdoors sitting are where we had one meal and loved it too. Our room had a shower and toilet outside, which wasn't what we expected, but it stoped being a bother after a short while. Overall a great place to stay and we will definitely be back if in the area.

Mulgrave Country Cottage is absolutely gorgeous, quiet, well furnished, has beautiful art of the local area throughout and was a really enjoyable stay. The breakfast was fantastic and checking in and out was easy. The heated bathroom floor was fun and our room had its own entrance to the outside with a hallway bench - quite nice. The King bed was comfortable with nice bedding. We LOVED the short, beautiful stroll into Sandsend and had our best pub meal of our entire UK trip at The Hart Inn. I took a chance being a person with dog allergies and was very happy (and impressed) that although dog friendly, the rooms were spotless, did not have any animal smells and I had no animal allergies.
