The location was good. The food was excellent. The rooms were comfortable. There was a lounge with games, sofas, and a large TV, but we were too busy to take advantage of it. Eric, the host, was very friendly and accommodating. He got us everything we asked for. The water was very soft, so only a small amount of soap or shampoo was needed. It didn't feel like we were intruding in someone's home. It felt more like a mini hotel with a fair amount of privacy for coming and going. Also, we had a ground floor room where we didn't have to drag suitcases up, which is hard being older adults. The stay was very enjoyable.

It had a really good combination of privacy in our room as well as comfortable common areas that made it feel like we were just staying with the family. Nicky was able to accommodate us for the guided tour (a later start time) and I'm so glad it worked out - the tour was one of my favorite parts of the overall trip to Scotland.

Debbie met me outside as I was early and didn’t want to disturb. The property was absolutely perfect. Welcoming. I could tell a lot of hard work and love went into preparing this BnB. Everything was there that one needed. Debbie was so welcoming with her big smile and friendly matter. Beautiful view of Kirkwall Harbour I should add. I did not photograph house but added these two of going to Orkney

Runa Guest House is the perfect place to stay if you prefer a place in the countryside. The view are wonderful and even if it looks far away from both Stromness and Kirkwall you can safely choose to stay here. You can visit the nearby Kicthener Memorial (not to crowded) and there is only a short drive to the main attractions. Robert is a very friendly host and is willing to give a good advice or two on what to see on Orkney. Hopefully we will be back sometime in the near future.

Absolutely stunning place close to the Brough of Birsay with some amazing views. Virginia was a wonderful and very helpful host and I'd definitely enjoy to spend even more time there. Room was very well equiped and very cosy with amazing breakfast on top of that. Highly recommended!
