Super friendly landlady. Nice room, comfortable bed, good shower, excellent breakfast, private parking. We wanted to stay the night somewhere out of the hussle & bustle of Edinburgh and this was the perfect location. We asked for advice on somewhere to eat in the evening and she suggested "The Grapes Village Pub" nearby in East Calder. It was cosy, had friendly staff, and the best pub meal we've had for a longtime.

We had absolutely no trouble at all finding the location thanks to Nicola’s excellent directions, and Erich met us on arrival to greet us, show us around, and tell us how things worked. The annex was very spacious and comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. The breakfast items provided were a welcome addition and everyone in the family had something to choose from. The beds were extremely comfy. The fireplace was loaded up with wood and ready to go, but we didn’t need to use it because it didn’t get too chilly. We didn’t have much time to enjoy the apartment since we were only there for one night, but the living area was very nicely set up and there were lots of board games and such available. The rural location is very quiet and a nice break from the city crowds. We have already recommended it to friends who plan to come watch the Edinburgh Tattoo later this year.

Kathy, provided us with a variety of snacks, cheeses, fruit and breakfast goodies! She opened her heart and home to us. She gave us advice on transportation. The unit was spacious and having two bathrooms was great!

The West Port Hotel is a traditional Scottish pub and restaurant in the historic town of Linlithgow, West Lothian. It offers en suite rooms with satellite TVs and free Wi-Fi. The hotel staff were very kind. They greeted us with a smile and shared the necessary information with us. The room was comfortable. We really liked the overall ambiance of the hotel. There was a restaurant and bar downstairs, and the food and drinks were quite good. Rather than staying in luxurious, detached, and impersonal hotels, it's satisfying to be somewhere you can feel comfortable, where the staff makes you feel at ease. Breakfast was included and was very good. Thanks so much for everything!
