The complete experience was amazing. It was sad that I couldn't meet Elizabeth due to personal issues, but her daughter was excellent, and they gave me a non-required compensation for the breakfast. I strongly recommend this lovely place to stay in their Scotland vacations.

We had absolutely no trouble at all finding the location thanks to Nicola’s excellent directions, and Erich met us on arrival to greet us, show us around, and tell us how things worked. The annex was very spacious and comfortable and had everything we could possibly need. The breakfast items provided were a welcome addition and everyone in the family had something to choose from. The beds were extremely comfy. The fireplace was loaded up with wood and ready to go, but we didn’t need to use it because it didn’t get too chilly. We didn’t have much time to enjoy the apartment since we were only there for one night, but the living area was very nicely set up and there were lots of board games and such available. The rural location is very quiet and a nice break from the city crowds. We have already recommended it to friends who plan to come watch the Edinburgh Tattoo later this year.

The unit was spacious and having two bathrooms was great!

The West Port Hotel is a traditional Scottish pub and restaurant in the historic town of Linlithgow, West Lothian. It offers en suite rooms with satellite TVs and free Wi-Fi. Very convenient and comfortable stay before and after heading off to the Highlands. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, including of a rambunctious toddler in our group. The breakfast was fantastic--more than enough food and extremely tasty! We also enjoyed the convenience of being able to get dinner in the restaurant, and that there's a playground and the nearby lake and castle in walking distance.
