This quaint, historic grade II listed property is 9 minutes' drive from York Dungeon and JORVIK Viking Centre. York Castle Museum is 13 minutes' drive away. Everything was perfect, starting with the staff -many thanks to George😊-continuing with the room (absolutelly lovely), facilities and the perfect location of the inn in a very nice and quite area (very close to the center and at the same time to the train station). As an extra, the bar was wonderfully decorated for Christmas.

Breakfast is served in the on-site café, where guests may enjoy a well-stocked continental buffet breakfast including fresh fruit, pastries, toast and cereals or upgrade to our award-winning full English breakfast. Breakfast is served until 10:00 on a weekend, and until 9.30 from Monday to Friday. The total ambience of this place makes it worth it alone. Very interesting history. Effectively staying in a museum!

Beautiful victorian style building with lots of space and a four poster bed. Friendly welcome from Lisa who allowed an early check in and provided some priceless tourist advice with a map. Great breakfasts and spotlessly clean

The individually designed bedrooms at Wheeldale each have a private bathroom and a flat-screen TV with Sky channels. Some rooms have seating areas and impressive sea views, and all rooms have tea/coffee facilities. The area was amazing. Close to walk to food choices.

At the bed and breakfast, the units come with bed linen and towels. The hostess was so kind and accommodating. She allowed an unexpected early check in and helped us with laundry. She seemed very eager to make our stay all it could be. Top marks!
