You can explore everything by kayak (they are free), there is a swimming platform in the river and there are a lot of hammocks and seating areas in the hotel to just enojoy yourself. Although it's remote you can easily reach the town of rio dulce by boat which the hotel staff can arrange for you. The staff is really friendly and helpful - knowing spanish makes your life a lot easier, but some speak english or even german. You can get everything from water to food at the hotel. The rooms and the bathroom were very clean, there are mosquito nets over the beds and the fan is really powerful. Very good value for money!

Hostal Blood Moon is situated in Rio Dulce and has a plunge pool and pool views. This guest house features free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen, full-day security and organising tours for guests. It was in walking distance of the ferry but off the road so you didn't hear the traffic. The host was lovely and we very much enjoyed the breakfast in the morning.
