The well appointed room was lovely - comfortable, bright and airy with nice views and plenty of space. Breakfast was delivered to the room in a hamper and was most adequate and nicely presented - there is a small dining table in the room. The whole place was sparkling clean. Private off street parking was perfect. Close to the castle and also a short drive to Lidle/Aldie and city centre. A great property to explore the surrounding area and towns from. Don't be enticed to go to Tipperary - as the host warned, there is nothing there.

Guest rooms have a desk. I payed so little for it that I thought it would be a bit nasty, but I was positively surprised, it surpassed most of the other accommodations during my trip. Including some more expensive hotels. The room was really cozy. I liked the solid classical furniture and traditional hotel atmosphere which in my book beats the hotels with modern furniture that often ends up looking like hostels. The location was also great! Next to the Railway Station which is both great for train travelers and people who travel by car and can use the stations parking lot which was right next to the hotel. If I come to Kilkenny again I will pick this hotel again!
