The staff was very kind, the facilites are in excellent conditions, the breakfast was delicious, we definitely recommend to stay here in your Iceland adventure! From all the hotels we stayed in our trip, this was our favorite! We had dinner here and the slow cooked lamb was amazing! And in this spot we saw the best Northern lights! This place will have a place in our heart!

Located within 2.6 km of Myvatn Nature Baths, Birkilauf in Myvatn has a number of amenities, including lake and mountain views. 11/10! host joanna was really excellent, she made sure that we were settled in and showed great hospitality! she had great recommendations on where to go, and also topped up the breakfast goodies for us when it was running low. the guesthouse also was really amazing - just 4 rooms and a huge living area and a very well stocked kitchen. all the kitchenware and appliances were high quality and super easy to use, and we really cooked up a feast every night because it really had everything you need! (including soy sauce for us Asians!) of the 3 nights we stayed here, we had a whole day of snow and so we just stayed in and watched tv (we really needed the downtime), and saw aurora right from the balcony one of those nights. the rooms a bit small but overall still comfortable and nice, and considering we largely hung out at the common area this really wasn't any issue. birkilauf was HANDS DOWN our #1 accoms in iceland and i will be recommending all my friends to stay here!

Set on a farm next to Lake Mývatn, this guest house offers self-catering rooms and cottages with free WiFi and nature views. The geothermally heated Mývatn Nature Baths are a 10-minute drive away. It was easy to find, the key was waiting for us because we had a late check in. The house was clean and cozy and bigger than we thought with lots of beds for everyone. The breakfast was good and the smoked trout is amazing. I loved that the property had two resident dogs greeting us. Very friendly staff. I would stay here again and recommend the guesthouse to friends and family.

Quietly located 5 km from Iceland's Ring Road and 13 km from Lake Mývatn, this family-run guest house offers views over Sandfell Mountain. Excellent waffles for breakfast. Enjoyed hotpot.

Set on Lake Myvatn’s northern shore, this property is 5 minutes’ drive from Myvatn Nature Baths. On-site facilities include a communal kitchen, small convenience store and bicycle rental. We stayed 2 nights. Room was clean and cozy, breakfast was good, staff was friendly. Location was good, overall place was quiet, although 100 meters away there was hostel, which didn't bother us. There were bunch of mosquitos or something like that next to Myvatn lake, but there were none near cottage, which is huge plus. Will stay again
