The property has sea and mountain views, and is 33 km from Shuzen-ji Temple. The guest house features family rooms. At first I was surprised by the good ratings, but it was indeed well deserved! The staff was very friendly and the guesthouse is very spacious, with a great view to the mountain and the sea. We were very well received and everything was clean and tidy! Top experience

Effective October 1, 2025, a lodging tax will be introduced by ordinance of Takayama City. In addition to the room charge, 100 yen per person per day will be charged. Please pay in cash or by card upon check-in. Guests under 12 years old are exempt from the lodging tax. Guest House Ouka is about 11mins walk from Takayama station, the route was pretty straight forward - just a straight line! The Guest House itself is cosy and well decorated. On 1/F you will find the reception counter and a home-like common area, the kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, cookware and long dining tables, Shower rooms are just next to the kitchen. My single room was on the 2/F which was clean, warm and spacious!! (with comfy bed/ chair/ hair dryer/ mirror/ small laundry rack etc. and a warm welcome note :) Restroom/ washing machine (200yen)/ tumble dryer/ Laundry racks/ washbasins were just few steps away. Staffs were so friendly and helpful, luggage storage was also available before check in and after check out. I had a great time in Ouka and Takayama, will definitely come back next time (and stay for few more days!)

There’s a family mart next to it and 20mins walk to the train station. Highly recommended!

The accommodation provides a shared kitchen and bicycle parking for guests. The owner picked us up from a light up event because there was no bus connection so late at night. Saved us quite a lot of walking. Great value for money in a good location. The kitchen was well equipped as well.
