This guesthouse is located along one of the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage Routes and Yunomine Hot Spring, said to be one of the oldest hot springs baths in Japan, is a 5-minute walk from the property. Extremely kind and accommodating staff who went out of their way to make our stay both possible and exceptional despite no obligation to do so. Beautiful, comfortable, and clean facilities with private onsen that hit the spot just right.

Ideally located just a 10-minute walk from the iconic Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Guesthouse Soi offers various rooms including private Japanese-style rooms and dormitory rooms. The room was very comfortable and clean. The bed was very comfortable and had a heating pad for the back. Good Japanese breakfast. Great area to reach most of the attractions, but not too crowded with tourists.

Authentic Japanese home- fantastic- staff was so attentive- they even dried our boots! Best stay in Tanabe area! Food was amazing too!

Both of them were very nice, I don’t know a lot of Japanese but we still managed to talk on Japanese and English and they were so lovely! We found some same interests that we all liked so it was even easier to talk. Really really nice owners. You can also meet a lot of other people there from all around the world and I personally didn’t mind waiting for the bathroom. Breakfast was very delicious and always different! I really can’t say anything bad maybe my best stay in Japan until now and will try to come back again and see how my new friends are doing. You can rent towels or a toothbrush or bring your own. I felt like home and wish i stayed longer. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

200 metres from Kumanokodo Nakahechi Museum of Art, 民宿 和合 Minshuku WAGO is a recently renovated property set in Tanabe and offers air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi and private parking. It is located 29 km from Kamitonda Concert Hall and features full-day security. The guest house has parking on-site, a hot tub and a shared kitchen. Everything was great, specially our host Ike. He was super friendly and offered us a small taste of sake, he even offered to do our laundry. The dinner and breakfast that was prepared was great. Be sure to order the lunchbox since it’s a long way and there’s only 1 place to eat along the way after 3 km. The location was good and the room was clean. Certainly would recommend to anyone.
