We were 1 short because of sickness, but we had already payed and I didn’t even think about asking for money back. But the women who greeted us insisted and talked to bookings so we could get some of the money back for the room. Even do it was the same room we used. Very good breakfast, they held a fun and educating tea ceremony. The room was nice and comfortable. And when we used their washing machine they asked if they could fold our clothes and bring it to our room so we didn’t have to wait for the laundry to be done. We have only good things to say about Inase Otsu Machiya and the staff.

Great experience staying in a quiet and friendly community. It was everything we hoped for and more. We got up at six to ring the bell, and it was really special. After that, Asami's husband told us that we were welcome to join the local residents in their morning exercise, and we did. It was such a nice surprise! We enjoyed the great sense of community here. Later during the temple experience, we learned a lot about the local temple culture. I would highly recommend their guesthouse to anyone interested in having an in-depth understanding of local Japanese communities.

The owner, Fujiwara, left us wanting for more. He picked us up from the station and gave us a tour of the city, as well as bringing us to a supermarket to get some food for dinner and breakfast the next day. He was incredibly sweet and helpful. The house was beautiful and the city was quiet. We could relax completely. We have nothing else to say but thanks, and we will come back!

Jonni`s Place nằm ở Sakamoto, cách Đền Enryaku-ji 14 km và Chùa Shoren-in 15 km. Ngoài Wi-Fi miễn phí, guest house 1 sao này còn cung cấp bếp chung và phòng chờ chung. Jonni’s place was fantastic. The house is in a beautiful location in Sakamoto about 15 minute train ride to Kyoto and about a 20 minute walk to the train station. My friend and I agreed that Sakamoto was a great place to get out of the hustle and bustle of Kyoto and it was great to see temples and gardens without huge crowds and in a little town with a super interesting history. There is also a 300 year old soba restaurant which is a must do, a cute coffee shop 5 minute walk up the road as well as the longest cable car in Japan located in Sakamoto. Jonni picked us up and dropped us back to the train station, as well as took us to the convenience store if we needed anything. The price we paid was super reasonable especially for the amenities Jonni provided, and he is such a kind and caring host. Would highly recommend his place to anyone.
