We had the most wonderful time on the beautiful island of Iki due to our lovely hosts and their comfortable and cosy accomodation. Their kindness and cooking skills are unmatched. We felt very welcome and had three incredible nights at their beautiful hotel. We would recommend their accomodation to everyone who wants to visit Iki island and we hope to revisit this beautiful hotel and its kindhearted hosts in the future.

Kimiko is the sweetest host you will find ever. She is super attentive and will try to help in any way she can. Breakfast (made by her) was different every day and it was delicious. She personally bakes the breads, makes her own jams with fruits grown outside her house and also uses locally obtained goods. Keep in mind there is a set of stairs leading to the rooms; if you have knee issues, she will help you bring your luggage upstairs. The rooms are brand new, spacious and super clean; the shower is strong and hot. The location is facing the river and 15 minutes away from the Gonoura port. If you travel to Ikinoshima, please give this place a try; you won't be disappointed!

It's more for a relaxing assisted stay rather than a hotel or rented apartment. There is a sauna and outdoor area. parking available.

The location is great and the close towns around are just a walk away. If you like walking, its your place. The serenity , quietness and peace all around are stunning. We could feel the love put into the house during its remodeling. Admiring the way to stay as close as possible to original materials and way of building it. The living room is great and wants you to stay overlooking the rice patties all day long.

From the moment we arrived, Manami-chan went the extra mile and made our stay truly memorable. Her home is uniquely attached to her family’s temple, which she lovingly cares for, and the atmosphere reflects her warm, gentle spirit. The decor is impeccable—calm, cozy, and soothing—so it feels like the house itself is Manami: thoughtful and kind. Every detail has been considered: a comfortable tatami bedroom with soft, plush mattress and linens, a full kitchen, washer & dryer, and even a little mini-spa corner to unwind. There are two toilets (a rare convenience in Japan) and the location is great for exploring. Manami helped us rent e-bikes and gave us wonderful day-trip plans and cultural insights we would never have discovered on our own. Staying here felt like touching the true spirit of old Japan while enjoying modern comforts. For us, it was a dream place. If you value kindness, authenticity, and quiet beauty, book Oteragoto—you’ll feel Manami’s heart in every corner. She truly deserves all the guests who will love this place as much as we did. 10/10. Extremely spacious Amazingly comfortable common spaces and rooms Nice staff, they are mostly not there but they will try to accomodate to your schedule with check in Remote area but views are nice, a car is probably needed to reach it.
