Both of them were very nice, I don’t know a lot of Japanese but we still managed to talk on Japanese and English and they were so lovely! We found some same interests that we all liked so it was even easier to talk. Really really nice owners. You can also meet a lot of other people there from all around the world and I personally didn’t mind waiting for the bathroom. Breakfast was very delicious and always different! I really can’t say anything bad maybe my best stay in Japan until now and will try to come back again and see how my new friends are doing. You can rent towels or a toothbrush or bring your own. I felt like home and wish i stayed longer. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Beautiful property and the host was amazing. He was so nice and gave amazing recommendations. He called a restaurant to make a reservation for which he recommended and it was one of the best yakiniku places we’ve been to. We also went out to a karaoke bar with him and we had a great time! It was a nice property but the host made the experience even better!

Wonderful immediate surroundings and lots to explore in the area. Gojo is a nice little town surrounded by nature and all facilities you might need. We had our own little rental car making it easy to get around. When you have to rely on public transportation your options are more limited. Property itself was very nice with nice facilities and all taken care of wonderfully by Miyuki.

If we could give Hariko (a Nara native) and Dane (from Washington State) a 100 ⭐s we would! Great location within a 10 minute walk to the train station that will connect you to many wonderful places. The accommodations are comfortable and public spaces inviting. Be sure to include breakfast - while a continental breakfast is available the traditional Japanese (our choice) was tasty and filling.

This was the most calming, beautiful and clean guesthouse! We only stayed one night and when we got to the house we were so sad we didn’t book longer!!! The host is so kind and clean! Our room was amazing, clean, the toilet and bathroom are modern - it’s a traditional but modern and warm house - and I loved the common area/living room. Everything we needed was provided, from tea to towels. It’s a great location for exploring the lower, less touristy parts of Japan, but simply beautiful!!!! shares Nara. She choose to have this and you can tell she is very passionate and informed about the area. Gave great recommendations and ready to help with anything you need. The place is a super nice experience to living in a traditional style house, while also having modern comforts. The women bunk beds were costume made for nice and spacey comfort. And location is perfectly nestled in a quiet neighborhood very close to the park. protip there’s a bike rental place 1 minute around the corner.

The location is really good, near to a bus stop that takes you to Nara park! Our accommodation was exceptional, the traditional house is cosy, tidy, clean and very comfortable. Mr. Shunju and Mike are very welcoming and nice people that provide you with information, recommendations and comforts that make the whole trip an unforgettable experience! I would definitely go back again at Naramachi Guesthouse for my next staying at Nara!

Very nice traditional Japanese house, conveniently located near the metro that goes to Osaka, Nara and Kyoto. Staff was incredibly kind and even lent me their umbrella when it was raining. The place was clean, the bathroom was spacious, and the futons were very comfortable. I also enjoyed the Japanese traditional breakfast. I would definitely recommend it!
