Wonderful stay with Gihan and Dinu! We stayed twice for a total of 7 nights. A wonderful, authentic experience in Sri Lanka. They are extremely kind and welcoming. They speak English very well, and we were able to take the time to ask questions and discuss many topics such as culture, sports, politics, food, customs, etc. This allowed us to better understand this country. They truly care about their guests, making sure we have everything we need and giving great tips for visiting the city and its surroundings. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner if needed (we recommend trying it at least once because it's delicious). We did the cooking program, which involves buying ingredients at the market and then cooking together. It was great to see all the flavors they add to the dishes we enjoyed afterwards. They know a contact for a safari in Wilpattu National Park and can help organize it. Regarding the accommodation, it's located on a very quiet alley. There's a kitchen available and a pleasant terrace overlooking the small garden. The rooms are well-equipped and pleasant. We recommend a stay here for a wonderful human experience. New Homestay with comfortable big rooms. Very nice shower, better than what I have at home. Silent airconditioning. Not cheap but worth the price because of the quality of the rooms. Extra will be breakfast 1200,diner 1500, softdrinks 300-500. Food good though. Contact with the manager only by phone, that's a pity, contact with the local family who takes care of the accommodation and food is very good, though little English.

We had a wonderful visit. The resort is located immediately outside the National Park, so the location is perfect. The room was comfortable and well equipped. The area is quiet and you can hear the birds and the jungle sounds (we even heard an elephant!) The resort is family run and the host, his wife and two sons were very friendly and helpful. The meals were good and (very) plentiful. We enjoyed a safari in the park with the host and there are walking paths on the lake outside the park where we saw lots of birds. Overall a great experience.

The property is surrounded by nature, creating a calm and peaceful atmosphere that’s perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The room was spotlessly clean, spacious, and very comfortable, with great air conditioning and a lovely view of the garden. What really made this stay unforgettable was the hospitality. Kalhara and his wife are truly amazing people – always available, always smiling, and genuinely eager to help with anything. They even arranged a massage and a delicious homemade dinner for us, which we enjoyed under the stars. The food was absolutely delicious – fresh, authentic Sri Lankan cuisine made with love. Every detail was taken care of, and we felt more like guests in a family home than in a hotel. We can’t thank our hosts enough for such a beautiful experience. If you’re visiting Habarana and Hurulu eco park, don’t miss the chance to stay here – it’s a hidden gem filled with warmth, kindness, and unforgettable memories.

The owners, Leo and Wanda, couldn’t do enough to help our stay go smoothly. They helped shape are itinerary and suggestions additions that were fantastic, eg Sri Lankan dance show at the cultural centre, organising a fabulous yoga teacher, as well as great safari. Relaxed and happy vibe to the place with lovely pool area.

If you would like the planning hassle taken out of your trip for a few days, hand yourselves over to Ruwan and the team at Visu Villa. We stayed for three nights at this lovely family run oasis tucked away about a km out of Habarana. Ruwan and his sister Kawshalya made us feel so welcome and Ruwan seamlessly planned and executed the next three days for us. His attention to detail was amazing. We met the team one by one and their service was just great including jeep driver Irosh and tuk tuk driver Anthony. There is a bar, a lovely pool, home cooked food by Tharidu, great people and nice comfy rooms. If you are a fiercely independent traveller who wants to control every minute and rupee this is perhaps not the place for you. The joy of Visu Villa is trusting in Ruwan and his very fair pricing, eating the recommended food, going to the recommended places, being taken care of, having fun with the team and enjoying Sri Lankan hospitality at it's best. Thanks Ruwan and team for a truly memorable three days.

We had a wonderful stay at Sweet Home Tourist Rest, Cooking Classes & Tours. The comfort level was top-notch — everything was clean, spacious, and thoughtfully arranged. We were pleasantly surprised to find that our room came with its own living room, making it feel like a full apartment rather than just a guest room. For a very reasonable price, we had a completely private space to ourselves, which we really appreciated. The location is also ideal — the area is peaceful and quiet, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. A special thanks to Nilukshan, who organized some truly extraordinary tours for us, including the Wilpattu safari, and visits to Anuradhapura and Mihintale. Each one was memorable and perfectly arranged, giving us deep insights into the history and beauty of the region. We also took part in a cooking class conducted by Malsha, which was another highlight of our stay. The class was hands-on, fun, and absolutely delicious — we learned a lot and enjoyed every moment. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area — it’s more than just accommodation, it’s an experience!
