I booked this property based on a review written by a family similar to ours. And the open air bathroom. We are a family of 4 with a 5 yr old girl and 2 year old boy. We rented the large family suite and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Less then 5 mins from the beach, large comfortable double beds with mosquito nets, a shared kitchenette, large comfortable bathroom with hot water and AC. The owners were such lovely accommodating people. The best part was the location. Hiritekiya is an Instagramy digital nomady hotspot, and Jungle Escape is located in the less developed part of the beach. So we were close to everything but in a more tranquil environment.

It offers amazing breakfast and a direct access to the beach. It is managed by the super kind Che who was always very attentive to help us organize a few things around the area. What we particularly loved about the hotel (apart from the amazing spacious rooms and the delicious (vegetarian) food) was that it is Che’s family home and has such a friendly and calming vibe :) it’s only a short walk to local restaurants and bars and Madiha’s main beach is also only a few minutes away. I would write a poem to this place if I could! This hotel, its owners Jeremy and Julia and the team made our holiday. We planned to spend there 4 nights and go further, but everything was so good, and we decided to spend here the rest of our holiday. Everything was spotless: room, team, breakfast, swimming pool, beach, ocean — just everything. Two things that you should know. First: there are many nice restaurants around, though there is nothing on google maps. Second: you definitely have to see the shop on the second floor, because Julia creates amazing clothes. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay! Every morning we were presented with the fully vegan version of the Sri Lankan breakfast option and it was extremely generous and delicious! There was something different every morning too. I would definitely stay here again, excellent location within easy walking distance to the beach and restaurants around Weligama.
