Very good location - close to Polonnaruwa ancient city and the lake, as well as to grocery stores and restaurants. The owner was very helpful with arranging a bike rental and safari tour as well as onward transportation. The guesthouse itself is very pleasant.

Both cabins are very neat and clean and cozy with charming views on the lake. Dinner and breakfast were delightful. What makes it special is a fact that you can rent bikes and explore Polonnaruwa by yourself (or with the great host). There are many monkeys, birds and cows around. We slept like babies, no mosquitos.

Professional, courteous and helpful. The rooms are large and clean with good facilities. We had a day of torrential rain which confined us to the guesthouse. It was absolutely a pleasure to sit and read a book, watch the many birds and plan the next days. Bicycle hire was easy, and the owners generous with local knowledge.

Our stay at Sunrise Lake Resort in Polonnaruwa was truly unforgettable. The location is absolutely beautiful, right by the peaceful lake with stunning sunrise and sunset views. It’s surrounded by nature, and we were lucky enough to see elephants and many birds right from the garden! The cabanas are new, clean, and very comfortable, offering everything needed for a relaxing stay. The atmosphere is calm and quiet, perfect for anyone looking to unwind. The staff is incredibly kind, friendly and goes above and beyond to make you feel at home. They helped us arrange a wonderful lake safari and served delicious homemade meals made with fresh local ingredients. The breakfast was simple but full of flavor, and every meal felt special. The location is convenient, just a short ride to the Ancient City of Polonnaruwa and other attractions. Everything about this resort exceeded our expectations. We left with great memories and would definitely love to come back again. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Polonnaruwa! 🌅🐘✨

Mahi's Place situa-se em Minneriya, a 35 km de Ruínas do Mosteiro Ritigala e 36 km de Rochedo de Sigiriya, e dispõe de ar condicionado. I would recommend this place to everyone! The host was so incredibly hospitable and sweet. She helped us with the elephant trip, cooked us an amazing dinner and breakfast and was just all around incredibly accommodating. She even let us stay a little while longer to freshen up and prepare for the next leg of our journey, after we came back from half a day in Anudharapura. You really see that she loves hosting and it shows in everything she does for her guests.

The guesthouse is close to the main sites. Ravi makes delicious breakfast with lots of fresh fruits. He even made us a takeaway breakfast when we had to leave early for elephant safari. Ravi organized bikes for us to use to see the ruins. He also set up an elephant safari with an excellent guide, Shiron. He was knowledgeable and showed us some incredible birds. He had a knack for getting us in the right spots for elephant viewing and was respectful to give the elephants space. Highly recommend a trip with him. We also recommend the morning trip as he said in the afternoons sometimes there are 200 jeeps!

Jayaru Guest House situa-se em Polonnaruwa, a 4 minutos a pé de Polonnaruwa Clock Tower, e dispõe de acomodações com um jardim, estacionamento privado gratuito e um restaurante. The family is incredibly welcoming, from the parents to the son, that is helping from time to time. The rooms are nice and clean, the bed comfortable and you can rent a bike there to go visit the city (although a bit old they work well). The breakfast was very good. Our only regret was spending only one night here and continue our chat with the son and father. Thank you for the hospitality and the ride to the bus station!
