I loved our room and it's special nook where you can sit and read while watching people go by on the busy steps outside. The room had a great bathroom and shower and the room arrangement was wonderful. It was a beautiful space to relax after a day of travel and touring. Plus, I appreciate that the staff were accommodating in helping us navigate our way from the bus drop-off to the hotel (through the medina). With many blue buildings and streets in the town, it is not always obvious which building is which.

Sandra was super informative and “simpatica”. All the staff were very friendly. Loved how near we were to the medina yet it was very tranquil especially in the inner courtyard where the plunge pool and massage made my stay very relaxed. Although I did not have breakfast it looked very inviting, they offered us a typical tea on arrival which was very appreciated after our journey. Although a small property With 7 rooms, it has plenty of outdoor space with a Roof top terrace and lush gardens where you can dine and have a cocktail.

Rooms at Dar Echchaouen Maison d'Hôtes & Riad are air-conditioned and decorated in traditional Moroccan style. Each room and suite has a private bathroom featuring a shower with tadelakt tiles. The suites have a sitting area and fireplace. Everything, the room, the communal areas, the staff, the breakfast, the location. We loved it here.

The staff is friendly and proactive, the breakfast is excellent, the place is very clean, spacious and the area where the hostel is located is my favorite, residential and quiet, within a short walking distance from the Kasbah, the Phoenician Tombs and the Cafe Hafa. I felt at home, whenever I'll be back in Tanga I'll book at Syrah Home
