If you come to the island make sure to stay at least 1, better 2 or more nights to fully discover the island and to give your mind and soul a proper reset! Rooms were very comfy with 24h electricity and in our case a hot shared shower. You can eat lunch at the local community restaurant and Julia will make breakfast and dinner for a very reasonable price. Local crafts can be bought directly from them or from other families at the main square.These products can not be found in any other place! Just make sure to bring enough cash as there is no ATM on the island and only one little store accepts card payment. If you are in Peru or in Bolivia make sure to spend at least 2 nights here, you will not regret it!

It’s a family home and they really make you feel like family. The breakfast is so filling and has the best view of Lake Titicaca. It is a little away from the plaza but only about a 15-20 minute walk. Not bad at all. The walks helped me acclimate to the altitude much quicker. However, if you need a ride the host is more than happy to drop you off and pick you up. He even was gracious enough to pick me up from the bus station when I arrived at 4 am. The family is the best. He also helped me book a tour to the floating islands as well as a night stay on Amantani. Honestly, this was one of my favorite stays in Peru so far. Whenever I come back to Puno I will definitely come back to stay here. The room gets a bit cold but they have a little radiator that warms the room right up and the bed is very comfortable with an incredible view to watch the sunrise and set over the lake.
