Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, Casa das Proteas is located at Estrada das Covas nº8, São Jorge, Madeira Island, 50 km from Funchal. The location is excellent as a starting point for several hikes. Breakfasts were great also the view and the peaceful area. The staff were very friendly and Teresa (the owner) is a very professional and kind person. Totally recommended!

Situated in a restored 18th-century home, Casa Da Piedade offers a lounge with fireplace, outdoor garden with barbecue and brightly decorated rooms. Wi-Fi and parking are free. It is located just below the famous church , the garden and the pool are amazing, we couldn’t get enough of it. The breakfast was fantastic. Enough parking space for the car. One of the most beautiful apartments I have ever seen.

Host was really clear in the instructions and willing to help with anything we needed. The house is really spacious and clearly well taken care of. The hot tub is a nice touch. The shower was perfect. We want to mention how grateful we are for the flexibility of our host, with a special request of ours... It really helped us out when we needed it. Would recommend this place to stay at. Kitchen well equipped, coffee machine was nice, fridge was nice and big.

Pedro was kind, welcoming and endlessly helpful, responding very quickly to messages. He even wished me a happy birthday and arranged for a free upgrade to the best room with a sea view free of charge. When I got to the new room, there was a bottle of wine, chocolates, biscuits and a personalised birthday card waiting for me. Couldn't quite believe the attention to detail and kindness offered to me! What a lovely place to stay. Highly recommend.

Beds were very comfortable . It was very clean and had extra blankets and also AC. So we were able to sleep very nicely. The water heater was amazing! After staying in a hotel where The water didn't even heat to adequate warm level, showering in this house felt amazing ! It heated instantly. There was welcome snacks and coffee so we enjoyed that too. Loved everything!!!! Also, loved the labels on everything! It's the small details that mattered so much ❤️

Our stay at Vale dos Ilhéus was absolutely amazing. The place is spotless, very well maintained and decorated with great taste - beautiful wooden details and a cozy bedroom make you feel at home right away. A huge highlight is the outdoor area: the garden is lovely and the view over the green hills and the town is simply breathtaking. The swing is a must, especially at sunset. It’s the perfect spot to relax - peaceful, charming and thoughtfully arranged. 🌱 Most of all, we’ll remember Fatima, the host - incredibly warm, helpful and attentive. She was always easy to reach, gave great advice and truly cared about our comfort. We highly recommend this place and would love to come back! The house and gardens are stunning, we particularly enjoyed spending time on the balcony and walking around the banana plantation. The bed was super comfy!
