Mama Root has a wonderful set up that is perfect for relaxing and unwinding in the small village of Kizimkazi. The staff are all incredibly helpful and kind. The view is unparalleled. The meals were nourishing and delicious.

Villa Huruma is situated in Paje at 15 km from Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park and 800 metres from Airborne Kite & Surf Village. Free WiFi is offered. Staff always bent backward to please and accomodate. There were a number of problems, but they were quickly and efficiently corrected. Property kept in immaculate condition!

Set in Jambiani, in the middle of a local village , Zanzistar Lodge boasts a sun terrace with outdoor pool and is located just a short stroll away from the beach. A hidden gem in Jambiani Beach. For us, the decision on where to spend our 4 days in Jambiani was between three different hotels. I am so glad we decided to stay at Zanzistar Lodge. This was also by far the cheapest out of the three options. The value for money can´t be beaten. We especially enjoyed the outside hammocks, the beach, the breakfast, the staff, the drinks and the cozy banana garden. Peter, one of the two managers, personally showed us every room. The luggage was taken care of by the staff and we even were invited to a welcome drink as we arrived. The beach bar has excellent food, great drinks and a perfect beach vibe. The beach was our favorite of all the beaches on the island. We went to Matemwe, Nungwi, Kendwa and Kizimkazi, but Jambiani was by far our favorite. The numerous colors of green and blue in the ocean is just spectacular. Thank you to all the staff that went out of their way to make us feel at home and took care of all of our needs. Take good care of them, as it is the people that make places like Zanzistar Lodge worth every penny. For us, we personally enjoy the small boutique hotels over the big resorts. The hospitality here was nothing else than outstanding. We hope to be back sometime in the near future.

Situated off Paje Road, the beachfront Kobe House is located in Jambiani on the south east coast of Zanzibar. It has two swimming pools surrounded by a tropical garden and featuring views of the... I loved everything regarding this location, starting from the wonderful people who work there, the clean comfy rooms, the garden, the pools, even the cats :-) The staff is beyond friendly and helpful, we felt like a family, at home. They were always eager to help us out or fulfill our wishes. When the driver we paid and contracted stood us up and we needed to get urgently to the airport, Maryam and Calvin did everything in their power to find a driver asap, so that we wouldn't miss our flight. They were so accommodating, that they even gave us an extra room for our friend, so that we all have a comfortable stay! What more could anyone wish for! I recommend this place to anyone willing to come to Zanzibar and I will definitely go there, if I ever plan a trip to Zanzibar again!

Offering a restaurant and a private beach area, Helwas Zanzibar Beach Hotel is located in Bwejuu. Free WiFi access is available. Each room here will provide you with air conditioning and a terrace. The atmosphere and landscape is fantastic. Everything gets better if you add up the good food of the restaurant, hotel staff and owners who are always available for help or suggestions.

The Amka Guesthouse consists of two building complexes and is privately managed. We have kitchen staff and housekeeping to ensure your well-being and cleanliness. Guesthouse No. It is a nice house close to the beach. The owner is very friendly, honest and helpful. The terrace has a nice view. I would stay there again.

Here you taste an incredible sweetness of life, it's like being at home, feet in the sand and the sublime changing colors of the Indian Ocean in front of you for scenery… This place at human scale offers 6 pretty rooms, spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean, arranged under the shade of two high trees. Stefania, an amazing woman coming from Italy who has invested herself a lot during 15 years in creating and growing this little paradise, manages everything with care, love and a beautiful spirit (the one i love, anyway), her mom by her side now. All the staff is charming, always smiling and caring. Nothing but happiness. The restaurant is very good and varied, and the breakfast, generous, is so delicious !! At the end of the day, the beach becomes very lively, with happy kids, graceful girls, warm families from the village… I definitely didn't want to leave Bahari Bungalows. @Stefania : i would « only » come back for your mango-coconut milk shakes 😄 A deep thanks for allXXX
