Probably the best place we stayed at during our trips, we absolutely loved our stay at Poponé Farm & Lodge. We arrived late from the airport and asked them if they could prepare dinner for us (for a fee). They prepared a simple but delicious typical Costa Rican dinner. The breakfast was so so so good - tortillas, yoghurt, jams (all homemade) as well as eggs from their chicken and delicious fruit. This is a family-owned lodge (incredibly kind!) and the cabañas are beautiful - simple, clean and super comfy. I highly recommend Poponé Farm & Lodge!!

Great location and beautiful property on our way to Tortuguero! Herbie was such a great host. Traveled with four boys who loved it. Loved the location, the cabins, the breakfast, the animals (which Herbie made sure to let us know where they were and what they sounded like) swimming in the swimming holes, the sound of nature around you at night, and a kind and generous host!

I loved Salamandra!. The property/garden is absolutely beautiful and cozy with a huge variety of lush flora. Everything was super clean and all four breakfasts I had were different and delicious. Jose and Silvia are extremely attentive hosts... they're simply the best. I would return in a heart beat.
