This "Guest House" is huge. A family of 4+ could easily move in here and live comfortably. The back decks are beautiful to just sit and watch the jungle. It is a little way down the road from the city, which means it is quiet and very laid back. I had both a breakfast and a dinner while at the guest house. Both were great portions with a lot of variety, tasty, and well worth the money. Unfortunately, my schedule and Wendy's schedule didn't align for her bird tour. There was lots of flora and fauna to explore. My personal sightings included Toucans and a Morpha butterfly. I'm willing to bet that there was a lot I missed that Wendy could have found and shared!

peaceful, simple but had all the necessities, so many birds, hammock!!, fan, and Wendy and her family were very helpful and delightful! super close to a beautiful waterfall with a nice cool walk through the forest, and nearby to a river swim spot!

Everything. Lots of birds (hummingbirds, parrots, toucans & others). Very nice secluded location right near the river. Host took care of us great & breakfast was exceptional.

Best accommodation during our trip to Costa Rica! Pablo and Carla were so welcoming and helpful, and they gave you some great recommendations for what to do in the area. The apartment was very, very clean and everything was pretty much brand new. Having a washer was big bonus since we'd been traveling for a while, and having a kitchen with everything we needed saved us time and money. I'd definitely recommend staying there.

Great family owned spot. We enjoyed chatting with the son of the owners who is a football (soccer) star goalie. Rooms are basic and comfortable/clean. This isn’t luxury but amazing value. Nice restaurant and tours right accross the street. Make sure you have the omelette at Cartera just 1 mile up the road. The “lounge” area is perfect for a cold beer and a bag of chips or take out fried chicken.
