As someone who has spent years in this area, I always send friends to stay here when visiting the area. Hotel Gasthof Alter Wirt is one of the most affordable accommodations in this otherwise expensive part of Germany. The breakfast is nice and the rooms are comfortable. Tons of hiking trails. When arriving you'll be greeted by a friendly receptionist that in a pinch will also serve your dinner. Great rooms,sparkling clean nothing missing. You won't need an alarm clock, the sun and the marching cows, yes cows, will give you a friendly wake up. Food in the restaurant is fantastic as well. Unbelievable views of the mountains from all windows and skylights. Bery well equipped kitchen. The village has a bakery just a few minutes walk from the unit that we enjoyed. The host Susie lives below and was very helpful with access to unit and washer/ dryer use ( for a small fee) in the basement.
