Our stay was one of the highlights of our 2-months Indonesia trip. Java Turtle Lodge is an exceptionally beautiful place to stay at where they look after you and want you to have the best experience. Our villa was clean & comfy, showers were hot, food was delicious and the garden is actually my dream garden with a fish pond and hammocks. We had an amazing time on our Sukamade turtle trip. In all honesty, this was the most expensive trip we paid for on our trip, but it was so worth it. First we visited Green Bay for a little hike & swim, then we had a fun 2 hours jeep ride, deep in nature, to Sukamade beach. Later, we went to the beach to spot turtles who might come to lay their eggs. We were not lucky to see one in action, but we followed her way back into the ocean. We spent the night at the national park rangers’ post, which was a minimal room but had everything we needed. And the best thing… we released baby turtles in the morning. Everyone included in this trip was genuine and treated animals fairly. A much recommended stay and trip!

The family who run Mocca are amazing they booked our trip to Mount Ijen, picked us up from the train station and organised our transport to Denpasar airport in Bali. The rooms are very big with a comfy big bed and a really nice modern bathroom. The breakfast is also great and they even made us a packed breakfast to take with us when we had to leave at 4am for the airport. Cannot recommend this place enough!!! 😊

Juda took great care to make our stay comfortable and easy. We booked a tour of Ijen through Juda which was brilliant, Juda waited up for us when we arrived late and he helped us with transport. It's nice and quiet, the garden is lovely, amazing breakfast, and it's just a short taxi to the train station. We would highly recommend - thank you Juda!

Beautiful guest house in the middle of the jungle with beautiful bungalows and surrounding lands. We loved the hospitality of our hosts Ericka and Marc and all their staff. The food cooked by Rico was amazing. We ate there every night. In the surrounding area, we also enjoyed the walk through the villages and rice fields. We had a great time at Didu's Homestay. Unfortunately far too short, but we will definitely be back. We were given a very warm welcome and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We travelled to Ijen on the very first evening. The tour was organised by the host and went smoothly. We had a really great guide who gave us lots of background information during the trip. Ijen really was an experience! I would say that you need to be reasonably fit, especially if you want to climb into the crater to look at the blue fire. We would also definitely recommend sturdy shoes and warm/rainproof clothing! The rooms and communal areas are beautifully and lovingly furnished. All in all, a great trip!

    Haddi and staff can’t do enough for you. There is much to see or do but it not usual holiday place. I stayed for 8 days and was so well looked after. Don’t miss the turtles but so many other things to see and do. If you want nightlife not for you but if want to connect with nature this is the place. Haddi is doing an amazing job from a fisherman to someone building ecotourism and looking after his home village can’t rate it enough. Food every day is amazing and he rents a scooter as well you can see and do so much. Can’t wait to go back.
