Vacation Rentals in Sekotong

After a short boat ride you pull up directly to the property, which has a beautiful view of Lombok from across the ocean. You can immediately get into your bungalow and settle in, escaping the sun if need be. The natural air flow and shade keeps the temperature down inside during the day, which is quite pleasant to sit and read in. There are ample options for sitting inside or out. I had come to do snorkeling, but unfortunately woke up with sinus issues the morning I traveled over. Due to this I was unable to get snorkeling in during my stay, but I was grateful for the comfortable accommodations in which I could try to recover more quickly. You will have mosquito netting for the bed, and it is advisable that you use it as some will visit during the nights. Also be advised that while you won't have a bidet (at least during the timeframe of my visit), you will still have bathroom access to a water spout and the means with which to remain clean. You'll be fine :) If staying around the property you will often see the lovely owners and their beautiful family enjoying the days. You can find friendly conversation with them, advice for enjoying Gili Gede's offerings, as well as some food or drink options if need be. Their son and I enjoyed some tasty pineapple smoothies in the shade of the ocean front tables, while flowers dropped from the trees above and butterflies fluttered around us. It was nice to have access to the icy treat, packed with vitamin C to help the immune system. Gili Gede is a slower paced, quiet, rural setting away from the party scene you might find among the northern Gilis. There is snorkeling and diving without the crowds, fishing trips, shell collecting when the tide is out, and other ocean activities to partake in which the owners can help you organize.

Mango Homestay on Gili Gede is incredible! In 5-10 years this place will be a lot busier, but in the meantime it is a quiet slice of paradise. There are two homestays on Gili Gede but Mango is located far more ideally than the other one. AtMango you can move freely around the island, but this isn't the cae at the other homestay. I would also mention the meal I ate here was excellent, the room itself was basic but met all my expectations, but most importantly the snorkelling tours of the surrounding slands I organised through the homestay were unreal. Can't recommend visiting the Sekotong Gilis enough!

Words can hardly express how wonderful this place is! A magical Robinson Crusoe paradise! Our stay here was by far better than any we experienced in Bali or Java. Our bungalow was spotless and comfortable and exotic. The sea was only meters away, and the view was breathtaking. The staff were so friendly, and the owner was tremendously kind and thoughtful! We immediately fell in love with the two dogs (Choco Pie and Brandy) who were so sweet and gentle and adorable! There was plenty of fresh clean water in our bungalow every day, and the staff accommodated our American need for many extra packets of Nescafe in our bungalow for our early mornings.As Americans, we drink alot of coffee, LOL. The bungalows are nice and sturdy, and the atmosphere is so romantic! The menu at the restaurant was fantastic! Lots of delicious items to choose from, and oh my goodness, the fruit platter was outstanding! The boat ride to get there is super short (5 or 10 minutes) in a lovely little catamaran) We went on the snorkeling trip. Our guides were fabulous and very thoughtful as I had never snorkled before. They took pictures and videos of us snorkeling, and these were given to us for free, which was super cool! I cannot recommend this place enough; it is absolutely amazing! We plan to return again soon!

This place has so much potential. I really wanted this place to be a 10. The private pools on the Sea and the clean rooms were fantastic.

Great hotel for relaxing. The breakfast is very good, and the restaurant (lunch and dinner) is also very good. The staff are very friendly, warm and give great advice. I highly recommend this place.

The property was located on our own private beach, basically. We had two bedrooms, a large living area and lovely infinity pool.

Only 4 smaller bungalows and I believe, one larger family-style bungalow, so not many guests. The place is nice and peaceful, with a great restaurant offering both local and western options. I chose this place for the adjoining dive centre: the equipment is very well maintained, and the staff are super nice! The boat departs directly from the resort around 9am, and after two dives, we were back around 1-2pm. Just in time to lounge on a sunbed for the rest of the afternoon. I highly recommend this place, especially for divers! Although we did see some turtles, I would say the main attractions of the dives are macro, with tons of different types of nudibranchs and frogfishes.

Andy the owner is a wonderful guy Smart helpful well traveled with superb English ( lived in Canada) Good location if you are using Lembar ferry port. The google map directions coming from Mataram in north to the villa was extremely wrong and sent me down super skinny 2 km road ( in the dark) where I arrived at old farmhouse across the river ( not crossable by car) from the real location of the hotel which is really located right on the beach I contacted google to tell them to not use this dead end goat path road Checkpossible message here on booking.com from his wife day before or earlier in the day as she may warn you about the incorrect google map routing If you are on the road next to the coast going north or south you are fine If you are driving amidst flooded rice fields crossing tiny bridges as the road gets narrower you are not fine ! The man living at old farmhouse is deaf so knocking on the doir wont evoke a response fyi
