The amenities are great, the staff friendly, polite, and extremely accommodating. The food is outstanding - generous portions, extraordinary variety and really fresh as a lot of it is grown in the hotel garden. The location is a little out of Hiraizumi but it doesn’t matter - there’s a shuttle, and the location is serene and beautiful. Also the onsen is amazing!

Gorgeous stay, one of my favourites so far. Lovely welcoming staff, explained everything and offered information booklets in English. Nice, spacious tatami room, pristine clean and with that aromatic tatami smell. The futon was comfortable and the pillow had a husk and a soft side. The facilities were amazing. Very spacious restaurant with delicious kaiseki offer and selection of local nihonchu. The large bath outside with the snow was very relaxing and a beautiful experience. The guesthouse is charming and the staff were incredibly welcoming. We stayed in the Japanese-style room, which was lovely. I highly recommend the half board option because the food is incredible! You can tell how passionate the staff are about quality, local ingredients.

The owner’s introduced is very friendly and patiently. There is a local supermarket in the vicinity for about 4 minutes by car. Dinner was delicious.

The Suzukis are wonderful hosts! The traditional japanese room is big and spacious, and while no bath is available on premise, Mr. Suzuki drove me to both a public bathhouse and local restaurant in the evenings. Mrs. Suzuki had a very large and delicious japanese meal cooked up for breakfast. The pair were even kind enough to help me plan out my trip around the local area after breakfast! Located a short walk away from Hiraizumi station and an even shorter walk to the nearby Mōtsū-ji, I highly recommend Minpaku Suzuki to anyone interested in staying in Hiraizumi! Will definitely be planning another stay!

The guesthouse is localed a shot walk away from the JR station and a stone throw away from the temple. The owners are a lovely couple and they will make you feel at home. They also gave me great suggestions for sightseeing and dinner. The room is traditional and large. Bathing facilities are new and spotless. Breakfast was prepared with care.

We had an amazing overnight stay at Iris Yu. The place was immaculately clean, good amenities, location was excellent and the receptionist was very king. She gave us a great recommendation to see the famous Hiraizumi lotus flowers!
