The people working here are really welcoming and helpful ! Few things to know : the onsen water keeps flowing during the night which can disturb a little bit the sleep + there is a hill to go to the village but it is managable. The entire, personal, onsen downstairs was amazing! While it felt a little way away from the main area of Kusatsu, it probably helped being away from the main source of the sulfur smell. (Make sure you keep the multiple doors closed down to the personal onsen to also keep that smell at bay!) Also, the location was walking distance to a great BBQ restaurant, amazing onsen, and a 7-11 for supplies. And the staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful.
