I did an overnight stop during Shimanami Kaido and enjoyed my stay with Onzo. Amenities were provided (toothbrush, floss, hairbrush, shampoo,…) which is nice so you don’t have to carry on the bike. The bed was comfy and everything was clean. Very good value for money

The location is simply stunning, the guesthouse sits peacefully on the seafront of tranquil Mukaishima Island, surrounded by lush vegetation and easily accessible by car. It's the perfect destination if you're cycling along the Shimanami Kaido. Youko is an incredible host, warm, welcoming, and exceptionally helpful. She provided excellent recommendations for bike rentals, local restaurants, and activities, and every day left thoughtful notes at reception highlighting events happening in the area. When we accidentally left our backpack (with passports inside!) at the guesthouse, she promptly mailed it to our next destination without hesitation. Our 8-year-old daughter, Alice, loved the play area in the communal dining space, bouncing on the trampoline in the garden, and meeting the resident animals: friendly sheep, two charming cats, and Maroon, the adorable dog. The property itself is spotless. We stayed in one of the Japanese-style rooms, which felt spacious by Japanese standards, and offered spectacular views over the bay. The rooftop terrace was another highlight for us. We'd wholeheartedly recommend staying here, it’s truly a special place.

The house was very comfy and clean. I am now living in a (small) modern apartment in Tokyo, so I chose this accomodation for my family to experience staying in a more traditional Japanese house. They (and me) enjoyed it very much! The decoration is really nice and there are many picture books for kids (and adults). There was also space for our rental bikes. The people living on Mukaishima are very friendly and there was a large (gyomu) supermarket nearby.

Beautiful traditional japanese house located in the heart of Onomichi, loved every minuted we've stayed there. The house inside was very clean & modern and had everything you need in an accommodation, while still retaining the charm of an traditional house. Location is perfect with many restaurants, bars, shops nearby at the shopping arcade down below, 10 minutes by foot to the train station. Check-In was done via key code and communication with the owner was quick, friendly and helpful.

Amazing view and stunning property! Designed & decorated to perfection. Having a full kitchen and a feeling of luxury was so wonderful after a lot of budget options on our road trip. We were able to cook up a delicious dinner, the property has salt, pepper, oil and soy sauce in addition to all the utensils & cookware you need. The welcome ramen and drinks were a wonderful touch. Watching the boats coming & going on the water out the front window was magical - could spend hours doing that. Also great bathroom with Aesop toiletries,comfy beds & pillows! We felt right at home here, had a real beach house luxury feel - definitely worth a visit!

    Great location, very lucky to stay in this original 100 year old villa, and located right in the middle of the Temple Walk. Close to the main shopping street and restaurants below. Very easy to find, and popular. Very happy to have stayed here.
