Amazing and unique Japan experience! Very nice room, very friendly, English speaking staff (which is not very common in Japan), a lot of small details that made our stay even better (Japanese tea and biscuites in the room, onsen, kimono, slippers, cosmetics accessories …) and delicious breakfast - Japanese or Western stlye, they can even arrange gluten free option.

Really amazing food and onsen. Amazing room. So many freebies. Beautiful baths. Staff doesn't speak much English but super friendly and helpful. Amazing stay and facilities. A lovely Ryokan! A MUST DO!

The whole apartment is perfect and very nice. The host arranged every small thing very carefully. Very beautiful home. Everything is picture-perfect. There is a small kitchen and fridge which you can use. There is an O2 box also which looked fascinating. However, as my stay was very short, so I didn't have time to use it. A very large bedroom is on the 2nd floor. It has 1 double bed and 2 single beds, perfect for a family trip.

The hotel is very beautiful and the japanese room is amazing. Very clean and comfortable, with attention to every detail. Drinks are provided for free and you have a kettle in your room. What really made our stay exceptional is the staff. They are very welcoming and kind. They make you feel like home and help you have a traditional japanese experience. This place holds a place in our hearts because of how the staff treated us. They offered us fresh made tea when we arrived with snacks and explained to us the japanese breakfast. Seriously very attentive and generous. I highly recommend staying here. We stayed for one night but I think two nights is better to enjoy the hotel and beautiful Takayama.

The apartment we had was an incredibly gorgeous two floor apartment. With an authentic Japanese bedroom and a western style bedroom. The best thing about our stay was the owner though! He was really nice Chinese guy who was always there to help us with everything we asked for. He even invited us over to another of his places which was a really gorgeous Japanese style house to dry our clothes and have a traditional Chinese tea with him. Overall there is nothing bad to say about our stay there and they even drove us multiple times to the train station etc.

Everything! The place is super unique and charming. On one hand you get to stay in very traditional Japanese house with amazing character and art work, on the other hand all facilities are new, clean and comfortable! The location is perfect, right in the middle of everything but still quite and easy to access. The host was very lovely, friendly and helpful. It was very easy and pleasant to communicate.

    This place is a dream. The staff is so nice and helpful, the onsens are great. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. It feels like immersing in a Japanese dream. The hotel's village is beautiful and quiet. And it's very easy to get to Kamikochi.

    We stayed here for 1 night during the Takayama Spring Festival , it was one of the few hotels with a room available during this very busy time in Takayama. Turned out to be a great stay. A short walk to Hilda Folk Village. A traditional ryokan with onsen which we tried for the first time and enjoyed the experience. We caught the bus from the city centre to get there. They provided a free shuttle back into Takayama the next morning.

    An absolute gem hidden a bus way from Hirayu Onsen. There is an outdoor onsen and two private onsens on-site. The owners put on a delicious breakfast and were kind enough to cater for my vegetarian diet. We even got a room upgrade. Thank you for your hospitality. Bus stop is a 4 minute walk away. A second bus stop is a 20 minute walk down the hill. A small village with a shop and a couple of restaurants are 30 minute walk.
