Felt very homely, was basic but clean, comfortable and right next to the airport. The owner, Satomi さん, was incredibly kind and helpful throughout the stay, helping to plan the best places to go as well as transport and making homemade onigiri for hikes.

The house is superb, functional and the setting is incredible. Thank you to our host for booking the rental car on the island, it helped us a lot and it went very well. The bedding is comfortable, there is all the necessary equipment for a pleasant stay. Accommodation to recommend whithout hesitation. The Onsen by the sea, a 5-minute walk away, is incredible. Everything about Luana House was exceptional, hands down our best guest house in our month-long trip to Japan! Our hosts were the warmest, most caring I've ever met and the house just had amazing vibes, along with an incredible deck with sea view. Make sure to book at least a dinner on site, the food is excellent!

This is the most beautiful cottage, giving a real sense of tranquility in the stunning Yakushima. It felt like a home away from home, and the hosts are so warm and welcoming. You can feel how much thought and time has gone into making this cottage as special as it is. I was in Yakushima to reunite with a friend, and this was such a lovely setting to return to after our daily adventures around the island. This must be the best place to stay on Yakushima - the garden is as beautifully kept as the cottage. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

The host was absolutely lovely. He spent 2 hours talking to us to make sure we were well prepared for the Jomon Sugi hike. Despite the language barriers, he patiently worked through all our questions with some google translating. As a bonus, he even taught us how to commit ritual seppuku :))
