This is one of the best locations I’ve visited so far. Situated in a very remote area where there’s limited access to outer world. You have to take a basic nature trail to reach the destination which my family enjoyed much. once you entered the premises it’s like you stepped into another country. Very calm and peaceful environment so we need to adopt to the destination. I recommend this place to all nature lovers who look for places where you can blend with nature. Limited electricity so prepare yourself with backups. (power banks, flashlights, ect)

Mahamed and Fatima are the most wonderful hosts, and there is no doubt they enjoy having guests, and want their guests to be as comfortable as possible. They made our stay truly memorable, and I wish we had time to stay longer. I will for sure be back, this place comes highly recommended from me! Surroundings are gorgeous, hiking on every corner, it's quiet and calm, and you will eat like a queen with Fatima's food (she should have a restaurant). I haven't eaten that well in all of Sri Lanka, and it's been my most pleasant stay. If you are into nature, mental relaxation, great food, and slowing down a bit, do make sure to book at least two/three nights with them, and just enjoy!

If you travel to Sri Lanka, it would be a huge loss not to spend at least a night in Haputale, at this guesthouse. This was one of the best places we have ever stayed at in our many years of traveling. The host, Saman, and his family, truly made us feel part of their family. We only stayed 2 nights, but it felt like we were staying at an old friend’s family house. They have a wonderful house overlooking the hills. The rooms are wonderful: clean, spacious, with a balcony and with some of the best views we have seen. The location is simply wonderful, in the middle of hills covered with tea plantations. The host showed us a short hike right behind the house through tea plantations, with views of forests, hills, and lakes. The guest house is perfectly located as a starting point for many of the nature attractions in the area. Saman is such an amazing host, and he will go out of his way to help you plan your stay and organize trips around to Lipton’s Seat, Horton Plains, waterfalls, or anywhere else. Our stay in Haputale was definitely a highlight of a trip, and we definitely recommend it if you’re looking to stay in a wonderful location that is a lot less touristy than Ella. This guesthouse is a place where you will feel like home, you will be surrounded by some of the best views, and where the hosts will go out of their way to help you. The breakfasts were delicious and very filling, and so were the dinners, homecooked by Saman’s family. We also highly recommend taking a cooking class at the homestay with Saman’s family. This was definitely one of our highlights, as we got to know the family, learn more about Sri Lankan cooking while preparing 5 different curries, and finally enjoy a dinner with our hosts after many hours of cooking and laughter with the family. The entire experience is worth more than what you pay for, and the family will really make your stay unforgettable. Book your stay here, you will not regret it.

The GlenMyu Villa is nestled on a mountain in Haputale, amid the varied plants and wildlife unique to Sri Lanka. On our arrival, Micheal and Ruwanthi warmly greeted us. They gave us a tour, and we were instantly captivated by the breathtaking views of nature. The villa's design is modern, radiating peace in every room. The large windows makes you feel like you’re living in the middle of the jungle, it calms and makes you connect with the nature that surrounds. During our stay, we got a tour in the garden, where Ruwanthi introduced us to the ingredients for many of their dishes, from fresh fruits and vegetables to all kinds of different herbs and plants. It amazes us that you can grow so much diverse plants and foods. To be completely honest with you, I can’t think of anything that they haven’t considered to make their place so special. The villa has everything you need to fully relax and enjoy your stay. You can have a peaceful walk in the woods or the garden, get a swim in the pool, and enjoy the view from every single room. The environment is animal friendly, they have all kinds of adorable animals like dogs, chickens, ducks, and a small cow. The dogs were incredibly gentle with our toddler, who usually feels a bit uneasy around them. Lipton, in particular, was especially a sweet dog. — One special topic for the food. We've dined globally, but the dishes crafted by Ruwanthi, her mom, and the staff were unparalleled. The food was just impeccable and the quality was top-notch! All the dishes are widely diverse and so tasteful. My husband is normally very critical if it’s about food but he loved every single dish. Our vegetarian friend was equally amazed, claiming it was the best she'd ever had. Each dish was truly the zenith of its kind. We hope to buy Ruwanthi’s cookbook in the future, hoping to recreate some of this magic! Micheal, Ruwanthi, the family and the staff took really good care of us.

Great experience, excellent organic food, super host

I lived in a family room and it’s comfortable to sleep. The common living area was really incredible decorated. I really like it and worth to take lots of photos. It’s really relaxed to enjoy delicious meals over there. The house seems surrounded by flower garden. We all like that very much. Thanks for serving us one night.
