It was the whole villa with beautiful garden. As I had to work for couple of days there were no issues with WiFi. The family was really nice and friendly. Maybe a little too far from main street but the quiet place and friendliness of local people makes up for it. Also breakfast was delicious.

Run by a young family, you feel at home from the first moment. The reception, characterized by warmth. Just like every other moment. No wish remains hidden. They know what the guest needs. A breakfast that makes the heart beat faster. Something different every day. This can be confirmed after 5 days of stay. I thank you for the help. The room was very clean and comfortable so we felt it like home from the first time. Hosts were very friendly and kind and they did their best for us, especially their daughter who speaks very good English and she helped us even with the informations we needed about our transportation. We have to mention also that they made for us a special breakfast from Sri Lanka that we wanted to try. We highly recommend this hotel for vacations!

First of all, I saw all the great positive reviews and thought that it might be a little too good to be true. After a few nights at Guruge's, I totally understood all the hype. It's a little bit of paradise and you'll never want to leave. He offers you a glass of juice on arrival and slowly settles you in. The bedding is clean. You get a free towel. There's a fan in the room. The bathroom is spotless and has a hot shower. He offers laundry services. You can store things in the fridge. He has really fast WiFi (he likes to point out that's it's a fibre connection). There's so much nature around the spot but you never see any creatures in the house. You can just sit on the porch for hours just relaxing. The spot is a 10 minutes walk from the main intersection. It's in a nice quiet location. I stayed in the hostel room and later switched to the double room because I had some work to do. I could only see why he has some long term guests. I left right before he started some renovations so I can't wait to see how it turns out.

    Host family is the best! We felt really taken care of, welcomed and safe. They even brought us delicious food and fruits on numerous occasions and provided us with free bicycles. They were there whenever we needed anything but also didn't bother us at all. The villa itself is lovely and cozy, it had everything we needed. The air conditioner works great. I really recommend this place to anyone who wants to experince authnetic but still comfortable Sri Lanka lifestyle.
