A very nice and warm welcome by Damith (the host). Really enjoyed the fairytale house with comfortable bed and nice shower. I am in love with the plant in the bathroom. Everything is very well maintained, clean and furnished with an eye for detail. At night I felt safe because of the sweet dog that lay in front of my door. During the tasty breakfast, colorful birds and squirrels visited the beautiful garden. The spectacle of the chattering ducks was very amusing to watch. Recently there have also been bunnies jumping around in the garden, but unfortunately I had to miss them. The environment was so pleasant and relaxing that I secretly didn't want to go out. The fear that I might miss something was just a little stronger. The host arranged a bicycle for me and I cycled to Unawatuna (15 minutes) & Galle (30 minutes). There is also a nice beach just a 5-minute bike ride away.

Very nice, communicative, and helpful owner. We were very warm welcomed by him and his wife. She can make a tasty dinner which we tried. Location close to the beach where you can find turtles.. Room and bathroom were clean 👌 nice garden and a rest area near the room.

Our stay at The Divine Villa Thalpe was nothing short of perfection. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth and care — Christophe, the owner, has truly created something special here. His attention to detail and passion for hospitality shine through in every corner of the villa. The house itself is absolutely stunning — a beautiful blend of modern luxury and serene tropical charm. The interior design is beautiful. Every room was meticulously designed, immaculately clean, and incredibly comfortable. Waking up to the view of the lush gardens and pool felt like a dream. The staff were beyond amazing — thoughtful, professional, and always going above and beyond to make sure our stay was flawless. From the delicious meal (we took the breakfast but now wish we’d had more meals there) to the little touches throughout the day, everything was handled with grace and genuine care. If you’re looking for a luxurious, peaceful escape in Sri Lanka, The Divine Villa Thalpe is just perfect. We loved every minute and didn’t want to leave. Where to start? This is THE perfect place to unwind and ground during any time of your vacation. We had already been in Sri Lanka for three weeks and wanted a place away from the beach, surrounded by nature. From the local monkeys, the array of birds, flocks of parrots, and peacocks jumping up on the roof, to the resident kingfisher. The sounds in the morning are spectacular. Then there's the hotel itself, built as an old colonial-style house. The pool area is the perfect place to relax, and the food offered was lovely - we highly recommend the curry (of course). We used our days there to ground, reflect and journal. Thank you to the team for looking after us. The service was excellent throughout our stay. Grateful to the whole team.

Everything was perfect. The family was amazingly hospitable. Way above and beyond our expectations. The room was spotlessly clean. Super comfortable beds, the place was just awesome! We were leaving at 6am, the hostess made sure we had a cup of coffee before we left. Cannot find fault with anything. I would highly recommend Silver rail to everyone.
