Super cute cottages with everything you could possibly need during your stay. We especially appreciated that the use of the washer and dryer was included at no additional cost (even the washing powder!). They have a “contactless” check-in process: they send all the information you need to access the cottage ahead of your stay, although the owners live right next door and are available. About a 10-minute walk from the Hokitika town center and a short drive from the Glow Worm Dell. This was a great stop on our drive along the West Coast.

With Greymouth Railway Station reachable in 26 km, Awatuna Sunset Lodge offers accommodation, a restaurant, a garden, a private beach area and a shared lounge.

The warmth & care of Elizabeth & Selwyn more than made up for the cold, wet weather . Hosts are very nice, kind and friendly. The room is warm, cozy, clean and lovely. And living room is a great place to rest. Front yard is a good place to see so many stars in the sky. Breakfast is also delicious. The host told me to tear all the ice from the car windows and then came to the parking lot and checked again when I left. I was really impressed and grateful. It was a perfect stay!

The situation looking out to native bush was a delight and also hearing the birdie and visit every day by a bell bird. Delightful cottage atmosphere with modern facilities and nice decking where you could read and relax.

The hosts were incredibly hospitable and went above and beyond. The tiny house was cosy and clean. The location was close enough to everything you want to see in Hokitika.
