Amazing place to stay! Loved all the details. Only 1 downside was the train line rattling the whole house but doesn't at all detract from the awesome time we had 😁 Sauna&Spa&Firepit 😍

Such a great little find, a cute holiday park really close to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing hike. Greg the owner, did everything possible to make sure our stay was comfortable by providing so much information about the area, and particularly the hike and what to expect. He also drove the shuttle bus to the start of the hike which was great and once again explained to the group everything necessary. We felt he really made a huge difference to our visit as we felt someone was there looking after us.

Set in Ohakune and only 37 km from Mount Ruapehu, The Gables B&B offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking.

The Red Rooster Cottage was great for accommodating 6 people during New Year's for our trip to the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. It has 3 bedrooms with 2 double beds and a bunk bed. It came with everything we needed for a good stay. The kitchen was well-equipped for preparing meals. Very private location in rural nature with almost no neighbours. It has added foliage in front of the cottage for extra privacy despite being close to the road. Only 5 mins away from the National Park town by car that has a gas station/ four square. And, 26 mins from the Tongariro National Park. You can head 26 mins up to get to Taumaranui Town which has a McDonald's, New World, Restaurants and more. Loved the theme of the 'Red Rooster Cottage' as most things were rooster-orientated and very old school making for a cozy, lived-in aesthetic.

Complete with a garden, Findlay Chalet - National Park Holiday Home is set in National Park, 16 km from Taranaki Falls and 22 km from Whakapapa.
