House exceeded our expectations! Helena was very gracious and provided a great breakfast based on our schedule. The house was well appointed, everything you want and expect when traveling, including an extensive honor bar. Highly recommend and hope to come back! Saw many comments about being at top of hill which it is, so having a car was a big plus. Anyone traveling to Douro should expect hills!

Location : Less than 5 mins walking from the train station. Perfect for dropping off the bags and going for winery tour. yes, it's little hilly way up. Room : It's a whole apartment, not just a single studio type room. Fully equipped kitchen, living room is well set up to relax. I found beds are comfier than average vacational rental ones. Clean & Spacious! Hospitality : Owner welcomed us upon arriving, explained few details might be tricky for travelers, like how to lock the door. She provided us coffee & tea, breakfast items & snacks. I believe breakfast is not included but it was thoughtful gesture since there is not much around the town, especially in off season. Feels right away that she genuinly cares, hence excellent reviews all around.

Fantastic place to stay! Incredible staff, perfect location ( 10 minute walk to Pinhão) with stunning views. Exceptional quality food and comfortable rooms. Bernardo and George and the rest of the staff were welcoming, kind and helped arrange cabs and other items of interest. Breakfast and dinner were lovely! Glad we stayed 2 nights but wish we had stayed longer. We did not have a car but Pinhao was reachable by taxi on a road that had some scary edges! The Casa was beautiful, the grounds exquisite (even in the rain) and the view of the Douro River just like in the photos!

I came to Pinhão as I had followed the Celebrity Race Across The World first leg trip from Morroco to Pinhão. The up a stairway from street level allowed for a wonderful view of the area. The apartment was lively and clean. It had everything there. It was raining constantly during my stay but I had a look at the garden which would have been lovely on a summer's stay. It was a 5 minute walk to the train station and n wine & tapas bars, cafes, restaurants and supermarkets a long the street. Vineyard within walking distance.if I make back to Pinhão I would stay here.

Very nice breakfast; location is a short distance outside the village, but is manageable, if a bit up hill. Super view from the terrace and common room.

The whole experience exceeded expectations. We visited with extended family at Christmas. The villa is gorgeous and the views are spectacular. Heaps of space, fabulous games room, fireplaces, well equipped kitchen. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. We didn't want to leave. Highly recommended.

Well maintained large house on the north side of the river - quiet location, within walking distance of the village centre. The entrance is easy to miss as you leave the village and is located in an awkward position on the mountain road. The welcome was excellent and we both enjoyed our stay.
