It is a 15 - 20 minute walk away from the central hub of the village with several restaurants, the beach, a pharmacy etc. It is in a relatively quiet area with the occasional loud speaker car but the cottage is quite intimate with a lovely terrace that is very breezy; do carry bug repellant. The accommodation was clean and well equipped. The location was excellent, a short walk to the beach, restaurants, and some nice hikes. Castara is an extremely friendly village. The Casa was ideally placed just a few paces from the beach, and numerous eateries. The air con works very well, the terrace was a great place to sit and relax. There was a fully equipped kitchen, and the host was like everyone in Castara, very friendly and helpful. A taxi from the airport to Castara costs 330 TT dollars. We arrived during heat wave. Staff were great. Flat was clean and tidy. It was all a rather basic set up, but that is what we signed up for.
