The owner is friendly and quick in responding, there is the option to book tours, and Albert, the caretaker of the house, is very friendly and helpful. I stayed at Santa Cruz Cabins with two of my friends and we had a wonderful stay! The cabin was super comfy and clean but the highlight was definitely the hosts, Tony and Juliet. They were so welcoming and provided us with tons of really useful information on the area. The cabins are about a 30 minute walk from San Ignacio but as 3 young women we felt safe walking to and from the town along the main road both during the day and in the evenings. The highlight was the home-cooked, local breakfasts made by Tony and Juliet every morning. They brought them right up to our cabin to enjoy on the screened in porch and explained all the local ingredients and dishes that they prepared. If you are planning any trips/tours around San Ignacio definitely reach out to Tony and Juliet and they can connect you with really reliable transport, guides, etc.

It was so nice to have our own little villa in the rainforest. The area felt so secluded but also very clean and safe. We also had trails to a waterfall and cave towards the back of the property which was great for exploring when we didn’t feel like driving. The room was well stocked and we had everything we needed for our stay. We were really impressed by how well the screens kept the bugs out and we loved laying in the hammock in the screened in porch. It was a bit cold to swim in the pool but we liked heading there in the evenings to relax and enjoy the evening. It was also wonderful to use the grill by the pool and super easy.
