Reasonably close to West Lake, so a nice location. Staff speaks decent English (rare during my entire travel) and was helpful with taxis to and from the property. I even received a checkup if I had woken up by request, and staff walked with me through the cold to arrange a taxi to the airport. Room was pretty good as well for the price.

I liked everything, the person running the hotel was so helpful. It was a long way from shops and restaurants but he took us in his car which gave him extra pocket money save calling taxi.

The hotel is Nicely furnished. Our hostess Jk was lovely and when out of her way to help us. Jk cooked us some fabulous meals asked us what we would like. She was friendly and spoke good English. We visited at a quiet time of year so she kindly drove us to a few tourists destinations and was able to ask questions on our behalf in the shops etc.

The staff were very forthcoming and accommodating with our early arrival. Apparently they can prepare a western breakfast upon request, but I didn't use that option and instead went with the Chinese breakfast (mantou, congee, fruit). The location is great for hiking around the West Lake and up toward the Longjing tea plantations. The place was very clean.
