We very much enjoyed planting a Guayacán Tree to help support the ongoing revegetation project at the site.

Encanto Hostel se află în Guachaca și are o piscină în aer liber, o grădină, o terasă și un bar. Great place to relax. We came here after finishing the Lost City Trek and this was perfect to recharge. When we went to Tayrona Park after, the owner helped us getting a ride with motor taxis and when it turned out I forgot something, he send a motor to bring it to us at the entrance to the park.

The staff and owners are incredibly friendly and helpful and made our stay the best. Their cute and well-behaved animals were a big plus! The hostel is clean, the beds comfortable and the aircon great (and necessary). Delicious breakfast. Good wifi! Located in a calmer part of Santa Marta with fewer restaurants, although close to the beach. A bit noisy during the evenings due to the traffic outside. Ideal for people traveling in groups or in pairs.

The location is near the entrance of the national park (probably 15 minutes walk). Its quiet, clean and the rooms are basic but spacious and it has a mosquito net. The price is really good and the owner is amazingly helpful. Highly recommend using this as your starting point. Take a swim in the river 5 minutes walk from the compound!
