In the afternoon you can walk to the river and have a swim or dip in to it to cool off. I booked a private room with private bathroom and the rooms are very big, so you can stay with 4 persons. The hostel has a lovely view, expect Ara's and many multicolored birds in the backyard snacking from the banana's. The owner Maria is so warm and friendly, and there are 2 lovely dogs who want to be friends with you as soon as you arrive. The facilities in the kitchen are very good. Everything is super clean and tidy, value for money is superb!

Middle of the rainforest sits their cute little wood cabin. There is not glass only mesh windows which is nice but a bit loud in the night with animals and rain. The washroom is clean with warm water shower that requires a bit of tinkering to get. Wendy and her family was so nice to us even though we only stayed a day. The location is near the Tirimbina reserve so we stayed here for the night walk. Cute dog too! Hummingbirds were right outside the cabin feasting on flowers.

We just stayed one night on our way from the caribean side to Monteverde and did not expect to stay in such an exceptional accomodation. The owners were very welcoming, served a tasty healthy breakfast personally in their beautiful villa with so much history. We spent a wonderful morning in the lovely big garden with many birds and their nice and well educated dogs. We can recommend this very special amiable apartments.

Our host Pablo was very friendly and helpful, and gave us suggestions for dining as well as the best produce vendor in the area. The location is ideal - in a small quiet village [La Flaminia; not Tigre, by the way] just outside Puerto Viejo and off the main Route 4, very close to the amazing La Selva Research Station (don't miss one of their tours for incredible wildlife!), but in a quiet and secure spot - no barking dogs, roosters or traffic noise! Fabulous kitchen, great hot showers, quiet A/C: it's not in the rainforest itself, but it's a great place to relax after a day in the rainforest.

The spacious holiday home has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, bed linen, towels, a flat-screen TV with streaming services, a dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a terrace with garden views. Guests can enjoy a meal on an outdoor dining area while overlooking the inner courtyard views. For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. I loved everything. The host was great, the property was very comfortable and had hot water. Facilities were well stocked. I will highly recommend this property!
