Our room was comfortable and had all we needed. We really appreciated Cino our host, who gave us a lot of tips about where to go eat and how to best explore the island. We can only recommend him and his business.

Absolutely everything especially Mamadu, who looks after the house!!! For the very first time I was travelling on my own and I did enjoy every minute! House is absolutely beautiful with amazing views from the patio and sitting area which is pretty much at the swimming pool. There are so many plants around that you feel like in a jungle literally, but that my kind of house. Peace and quiet area ... except for the roosters, but I did love it as well, as brought me back to my childhood when I grow up in the village. And the most important factor why I did love this place so much is that I was on my own, so all house was to myself!!! Fortunately, Mamadu was there any time I did need anything!

The place is cosy, spotless, and thoughtfully arranged, making it feel like a real home away from home. Upon arrival, we were pleasantly surprised with a very generous welcoming package including juice, wine, beer, and water — such a kind touch that immediately set the tone for the stay. The atmosphere throughout the property is wonderful, and breakfast was truly excellent. The staff are incredibly kind, and the manager goes above and beyond to make sure every guest feels comfortable and cared for. What makes Casa Alegria even more special is that by staying here, you’re also supporting a meaningful cause that empowers women — a detail that really adds value to the whole experience. They were also very understanding and flexible with our late flight, kindly allowing us to stay longer so we could relax before heading to the airport. All in all, it was an amazing experience and I can’t recommend Casa Alegria enough!

The location was nice , clean and easily accessible , The host was reachable and offered assistance and made our stay comfortable and memorable . The apartment was clean and stylish, nicely decorated with good Wi-Fi.

Tugged away from the rest of the world, Ja opened a room of her ancestor's home to guests who would like to experience what it's like to live in Cape Verdian raw country side - which includes being offline, taking cold showers with a bucket and a mug, sleeping in pin drop silence (apart from the roosters), walking in the steep hills, etc. One can go with a shared taxi until the roundabout of Sao Domingos. From there, a local can come and pick you up for 300 ESC, or you can walk (it's absolutely safe, the locals are friendly and helpful, location on the map is accurate). They can also drop you to the airport for 1500 ESC, and it just takes 30mins to reach. Ja knows how to cook for vegetarians, too. She is a witty and interesting host to talk to. I am still amazed at the purity and simplicity of this place, and hope to be back one day.
