The entire community is incredibly kind. They took me on really interesting and personalized tours. The people who work at reception were very helpful with scheduling tours both in the community and to Chimborazo. Visiting the community is an amazing experience and I highly recommend.

It's cosy and yet very modern and well executed. Everything is spotless, the room is spacious and has a nice sitting area. Great location. Nextdoor is a cafetaria of the same owners that does amazing breakfasts that are very affordable. Friendly and caring staff.

Apart from being a beautiful historic building with loads of spaces to chill and chat or spend time alone, place to work, comfortable beds, great breakfast…all of the amazing facilities… apart from that, the owners are a beautiful family who greet and treat everyone like friends and family. You feel so at home and the owners will do everything to make your stay comfortable, from ordering taxis to giving tourist advice and local restaurant recommendations. Mostly, just the warm smile you’re met with every day makes the difference! <3 10/10 recommend staying here. The highlight might be the super spacious and comfortable beds. They feel like luxury at a backpacker price!

Located in Riobamba, 14 km from San Andrés, Casa de Mármol provides a shared lounge and free WiFi. Beautiful and clean room with private bathroom for a very affordable price! This stay exceeded my expectations!! Very friendly owner Irma! Everything was just perfect, the best hotel I have been in my one-month stay in whole Ecuador.

This hotel is the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in. It's a converted old ranch house and everything is reminding you of that: from the uses of dark woods in the room to tables and lamps made out of cart wheels. It gives the hotel an incredibly homely feel. That's even more reinforced by the setup: the dining room, also has a heart with couches to hang out, there's toys for kids, a few alcoves to hang out and read, there's a bonfire at night, a wishing well, a swing etc. Everything makes you feel at home. The staff is incredibly nice and attentive and goes above and beyond to help you in any way they can. They still maintain a few animals: a few of llama's, goats, a pig, peacocks, a dog, cats and a few rabbits. From the hotel, there are several places close by to visit, like a fairground, Iglesia Balbanera (the oldest church in Ecuador) and if course the mighty chimborazo, the highest volcano in Ecuador. Unfortunately, we only got to stay there 1 night, but if we ever go back to Ecuador, we will definitely make another stop here.

Campo Wasi is located in the parish of San Isidro de Patulú, 10 minutes from the city of Riobamba in the province of Chimborazo. Peaceful location with a beautiful garden, spacious and comfortable rooms and very amazing hosts. They gave us tea and a bottle of their fantastic homemade lavender shampoo made from herbes harvested in the garden. It is a sustainable little paradise.
