Avenue House is located in Bakewell, within 2.4 km of Haddon Hall and 3.3 km of Chatsworth House. Built in 1900, the property is within 2.8 km of Ashford Castle. Free WiFi is available. Where do I even start...it was AMAZING! The staff first and foremost were brilliant, starting with Sarah, who welcomed me with a huge smile and means to help in any way she could (like having my room ready a bit earlier than check in time or going through all there is to know about my staying), and then there was the lovely Allison at breakfast, so cheerful and sunny. I felt real love for the job from these two. The rest of the crew I didn't meat unfortunately. The room that I got was H-U-G-E and absolutely perfect in style and comfort. Bed was big and very comfy, the heating was just right, felt like home. Can't praise enough. That's exactly the way I would like all the hotels or RBNBs to be like.

Great room, decor is beautiful, comfy bed, spotlessly clean. Fridge in room with Prosecco was a lovely surprise also muffins. We even had a dual control electric blanket. There’s also a fan and extra heater in room if you need either. Shower is great, nice and hot. Lots of choice for breakfast, yoghurt, fruit, malt loaf, croissants, cereal, toast, crumpets and more. Theres also a beautiful lounge to relax in. Michael is such a great host and lovely company. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Katrina and Tim were very friendly and welcoming. They have a lovely cottage which was a delight to stay in. A great location to access the Peak District. Room was warm and comfortable.

We absolutely loved this place! Beautiful choice for this town, albeit a very steep climb from the town center. (We made ample use of the town‘s taxi services!) The apartment itself is perfect for two, and surprisingly super well equipped despite its modest appearance. I think the only thing we wished for was a cheese grater :D
