Staying in a traditional Tongkonan - I didn’t really knew what’s it like when I booked it and now I can only recommend it! The family is so kind, they picked us up at the airport (it took us 3 times to get there, 2 landings where cancelled so we arrived one day later, thanx again for your patience, Mama and Papa Valen), organised a great guide for us - Piter knows everything about the Toraja culture and Yusuf also - and Mama Valen cooked such a delicious Christmas dinner. It was a pleasure and a honour staying at this family’s Homestay!

Imanuel and his son are the nicest people. Imanuel is the local guild and he can organise the tour and treks for you. He can help with tickets and transport and he is very informative. Accommodation is basic but nice and clean. Very good breakfast with fresh fruits and juice. And it's just a few minutes walk from the city center The location is stunning - in the middle of a rice field. I could simply sit on the terrace and enjoy the view. The water buffalos, people working on the rice fields and lots of birds. And there are fireflies in the evening. I would love to stay longer here in Rante Pao. I will definitely be back! Highly recommend!

We had an amazing stay at this homestay in Indonesia! The place was impeccably clean and of great standard, and the simple breakfast provided each morning was perfect to start the day. Lea, the owner, went above and beyond to make our experience special, inviting us to her nearby restaurant where we enjoyed a welcome drink and some of the most delicious food, including local dishes she thoughtfully prepared non-spicy for us while keeping the authentic flavors intact. It's a wonderful family-run business—Lea’s mom also took us on two fantastic tours of the national park, showing us all the incredible wildlife with so much care and patience. Lea’s dedication to ensuring her guests have the best possible experience is truly inspiring, and we highly recommend staying here!
