Mr. Kaesa was extremely helpful — he was waiting for us upon arrival and provided us with the most detailed information about Berastagi and the trek to Gunung Sibayak. The rooms were clean and spacious, and breakfast was available. As a bonus, the price was extremely low — almost ridiculously cheap considering everything that was included. I highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Berastagi.

She really cares about her guests and helps with all she can. She even woke up at 4 am to drive us to the airport. Would recommend anyone to stay here.

You can tell he really cares about his guests. The room and bathroom are very clean and comfortable. The food is incredible too (plenty of vegan and vegetarian options)! I did a 2 night jungle trek with them as well and everything was very well organised, great food and fruit on the trek, comfortable campsites by the river and close to a waterfall. You could tell that the guide really enjoyed being in nature, he had so much knowledge about the animals and plants and made us feel really safe. I got a bee sting and he had magic oil that made the sting disappear in just 30 min! I had a really great stay and trek with Brian and his team and definitely recommend them and would definitely come back one day! :)

Located in Bukit Lawang in the Sumatra region, Jhony's Backpacker-Guest House only stay here book treking with us features a balcony. We booked with Jhony for our jungle trekking to see orangutans. It was the best decision ever! We saw orangutans and gibbon and long tail monkeys. The entire experience was great, the best food, great itinerary, where we stayed was very comfortable, and to end all the rafting was super super fun. Everything beat our expectations and it was all for a very fair price. Jhony was a great tour guide and so was his younger tour guide in training Lana who will be a guide next year. Lana was fantastic and super great with us and of course Jhony was too. Thank you so much to you both and we will definitely recommend you. I really enjoyed my stay here. It is a comfy and very convenient guesthouse. The staff is really kind and helpfull. They also organize great trekking tours to the jungle. And the location of the guest house is great. Right next to the river. From the terasse you can look down on the river and enjoy the village life.

The place is a little bit outside the town and for me this is a good thing because it is very quiet and peaceful (they have a restaurant and provide water and free refill).

Porters are available for a small fee. A fabulous view into the jungle. Arif, Riski and the girls in the kitchen provide a friendly, laid-back atmosphere and create amazing meals. All the guests eat dinner together, a great communal experience. Some of the rooms have outside jungle bathrooms. Staying here was the highlight of our trip to Indonesia.
