We felt more like family than tourists. The meals were a foodie delight, locally sourced and delicious. Our host was warm, friendly, and very knowledgeable. The house was beautifully decorated and full of light and laughter.

Offering a restaurant, Riverbank, Country Pub and Guesthouse is located in the countryside 10 minutes’ drive from Carrickmacross. Everything about this property is fabulous. Tucked away down country lanes , set on a river. Our welcome was warm and genuine. We found all the staff to be polite and friendly even though they were dealing with a roomful of people.We liked the food so much we had lunch, dinner and breakfast here. Definitely worth a detour.

In the heart of the town of Monaghan, the family-owned Ashleigh House offers free WiFi. Guests can enjoy access to the garden and outdoor patio area. There is also a communal TV lounge. Accommodations, parking, beds, location, and hostess are all lovely. We would happily stay here again. After a long day driving in Ireland it was lovely to be greeted by the hostess! Pauline is exceptionally warm and kind. We all enjoyed chatting with her. The accommodations were exceptional! We appreciated the small kitchen and breakfast foods provided. Highly recommend staying here. Easy to locate, good signage, lovely hostess, comfortable beds, and ample parking.
