There are 6 apartments in the area, but we didn't feel any of other quests.

Featuring a restaurant and cafe on site, Blabjorg Resort is in the fishing village of Borgarfjordur Eystri, 71 km from Egilsstadir. Very comfortable stay. We loved the location. Super friendly staff. There is kitchen to share and a restaurant. You can also book jacuzzi with an amazing view. But the breakfast - they got homemade cookies and hjónabandssæla, fresh coffee, juices and plenty of other options ❤️ Thank you very much for us!

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about our stay in the Hengifoss lodge. It's a dream to stay here. Once entered you're greeted by the warm smell of ember caused by the wood that was used to make this house. The colours and the layout of the room is incredibly cosy. The fireplace keeps the house (almost too) warm, and the window + terrace give an exceptional view over the lake and mountains. The hosts are also amazing and gave us the feeling that we're not only welcome, but also that they really understand why we chose to go to Iceland. We asked for help with our fireplace and the host, Isabelle, came to the rescue. She tried to help us to lit a fire but to no avail. We did however have a really good conversation. However when she left, we were content enough. Yet still she knocked on the door and winked us to come over. She told us enthusiastically that the Northern Lights were dancing and fully visible, we had to come outside! The next morning it was kind of raining, a little bit. But the sun was also shining through the clouds. The husband, Steff, called me when I was standing on the terrace. He said: "There is a rainbow there!" and pointed towards slightly behind the house I was standing in front of. I walked to the side and indeed saw a beautiful rainbow. This might not say much to other people wanting to stay there. But to me it feels like these people have such a connection with Iceland, its beauty and understand that we are there for the same connection, they told us to look at beautiful views which Iceland offers, and we were delighted to follow their guidance. Thank you Isabelle and Steff, for the warm welcome. Whenever we're in Iceland and planning to go near Eggs, we will definitely make use of your beautiful little houses.

Gem in East - small town with harbor and history, hiking tracks, restaurants plus excellent place to stay. Spacious and well equipped place, where our family would have wanted to stay for longer. Furniture and interior design was so nice, cosy and all details seemed to be considered to be suitable for this area.

There was a washing machine but we unfortunately didn't have time to use it. The bed was big and really confortable. It was a perfect stay, we would love to come back.

Where to start...the cozy room, clean accomodation, 2 bathrooms that you only have to share with 2 other rooms, well equipped shared kitchen, use of the sauna and hot pot, nice location BUT most important the host Elsa is the best! I could stay an extra night because of the bad weather and she was kind enough to get me back on my feet to continue my road trip (driving in Iceland is quite the adventure). Best guesthouse I´ve been in!
