His B and B is spotless and comfortable. The air conditioning was cold and the shower water hot. He served me a delicious Jordanian breakfast including local fresh olive oil. The B and B is a ten minute walk from the ruins. To top it off, Ibrahim is the director of the Um Qeis museum, so if you have any questions on the history of the site right up to the 1980s when he and his family had to move out of the Ottoman village, he is your man. Highly recommended.

Beit Al Fannan is a real gem, we enjoyed everything about the house and every moment we were there. Hamad was welcoming and very helpful throughout, and having breakfast freshly prepared by Um Ammar was a delight. The big terraces provide a stunning view. We could spend hours there reading, drawing, and having snacks, gazing at the changing colours of the surrounding hills and the ruins during the sunset. We also enjoyed listening to and watching little birds making nests around the house. Everywhere is tastefully decorated, from the living room to the bathrooms. The kitchen was well equipped (we brought ingredients and cooked dinner ourselves), and the upstairs bedroom was very spacious, and they had added a single bed for our child. We enjoyed discovering how Mr. Ammar Khamash designed and constructed this beautiful place, giving full respect to nature. The house is full of his artwork, and it inspired us to draw and paint while we were there! We plan to go back as soon as we can!

The house is excellent, and was absolutely what we were hoping for. Abdula is an excellent host and on hand for anything you may need or to answer questions. His breakfast was simply amazing and brought to the door. The bed was comfy the living area and outdoors was ideal the garden was a relaxing and beautiful place to watch the sunset. I wish now we had booked another night as there is so much to do in the area. I would stay there again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

The ruins and the nature reserve are short drives away and Umm Qais is a good base for exploring Jordan's north by car. There is an amazing view from the large roof terrace.
