Dinner and breakfast are amazing and plentiful, with locally sourced organic produce (even coffee!). Our room (Japanese room with private toilet) was to the left of the entrance. It was very spacious. The heater worked very well as autumn night was a bit damp and cold. The beds are futons on wood bed frames on tatami, and they are super comfortable. As I have a whole-leg tattoo which is usually not permitted in the public baths, I notified Ranko in advance, and she reserved the private bath for us. The private bath was a very beautiful blue ceramic bath filled with warm (I don’t think it’s very hot) healing hot spring water from the area. Ranko’s warm personality really made the stay memorable. Be sure to ask her for recommendations of the areas. She is a well of knowledge of the area!

We spent three wonderful days in Hirosaki, a charming and authentic town that still feels untouched by mass tourism. It was refreshing to explore a place where the pace is slower and the culture feels so genuine. The absolute highlight of our stay was Guest House Chara, run by the kindest elderly couple, Fusao and Toshiko. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel completely at home—it wasn’t just a place to sleep, it truly felt like staying with family. Their house told a story, filled with warmth, history, and the little personal touches that made it feel lived-in and loved. From the amazing homemade breakfast to the delicious ramen dinners they prepared, every meal was made with care and love. The guest house is conveniently located, just a short walk from a supermarket and a laundromat, which made things really easy for us. This personal, welcoming experience truly made our trip special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a meaningful, off-the-beaten-path experience in Japan. ありがとうございます

Inaka no Kakurega Cottage Hideaway - Vacation STAY 19620v tọa lạc ở Inakadate, cách Hồ Towada 44 km, Suối nước nóng Tsuta 46 km và Lâu đài Hirosaki 13 km. It’s a cosy cottage. Feels like home. Excellent for family holiday. All of us love the cottage. Surrounded by Apple trees and Sakura trees. How nice to be woken up by cuckoo birds in the morning. We will definitely come back if we ever visit Aomori again. Mr Aki was very helpful with our trip planning too.

Tanehachi Farm Guesthouse - Vacation STAY 29709v cung cấp chỗ nghỉ tại Aomori. Chỗ nghỉ này nằm cách Gappo Park 17 km, Munakata Shiko Memorial Museum of Art 19 km và Aomori Prefectural Kyodokan 19 km.... I like the guesthouse is surrounded by the nature, the closest train station is Asamushi station, it’s about 5-6 stops away from Aomori station. The guesthouse owner Taku can offer pick-up/drop-off at Asamushi station. BTW, Asamushi is famous for onsen(hot spring). Since the house is in the middle of nature so there’s no restaurants or convenience stores nearby, but you can purchase dinner and breakfast, Taku’s wife, Kaori, makes very delicious and healthy food, must try it!

It was picture said, very comfortable and great space! 3bed room,They have big living room and everything you need. Location was fantastic also, you can walk to the several attractions! Easy in and out with the car to little day trip. They have parking spot.

They went out of their way to arrange a taxi for us due to our early flight out in the morning. In terms of the facility, it was quiet, clean, and the bunk beds are accessible on the second floor via stairs. We traveled as a large party and the guys stayed in the mixed dorms, both upper and lower bunks. The bunks are wooden and looks very nice (quick research shows me they were made out of apple boxes!). Three of the girls in our group stayed in a traditional Japanese room. It was nice and clean. Although later at night, the other side of the Japanese room separated by wooden locked dividers were talking loudly so you can hear them. There are a total of 2 mixed gender shower rooms inside a glass container room with sinks. There is an additional female shower room and another toilet in the female side separated by a curtain from the rest of the hostel. Additional toilets are accessible on the same floor but outside the dorms (not too far though, just separated by sliding doors). Overall, a hostel I'd definitely return to if I'm in Aomori.

The hot spring and room were very nice. Also the foods were amazing. I left my hat but They sent it quickly which was very nice too. Totally recommend !!
